Why all this unreasonable hype for Atupele Muluzi?..Went into hibernation when Malawians wanted him most

Atupele Muluzi leader of UDF and Malawi President and Leader of DPP form an Alliance

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Malawians must not taken for granted despite abject poverty that most of them fail meet daily needs.

Going to general elections every five years give them hope for political change that advances meaningful development, but the outcome is different.

May 21, 2019 tripartite elections will go into Malawi history after the Constitutional Court (ConCourt) on February 3, 2020 nullified the presidential polls over numerous irregularities.

The verdict followed UTM and Malawi Congress Party (MCP) leaders Dr. Saulos Chilima and Dr. Lazarus Chakwera leaders respectively petitions.

The two challenged Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) for incompetent on how the body managed the polls.

As First respondent on the case MEC was supported by President Peter Mutharika.

During the entire case till the verdict was delivered, none from yellow camp, United Democratic Front (UDF) showed up either for petitioners or respondents.

After the ruling, UDF through its Spokesperson Ken Ndanga came out of the cocoon start commenting on the elections as if the party has its people on heart.

UDF through its leader Atupele Muluzi went sole into the polls who came fourth in the tippexed polls but never challenged the results at all.

The Junior Muluzi even lost his Parliamentary seat at his home district Machinga without shame.

All this while was quite eating sausage in China while Mutharika was battling out with Chilima and Chakwera until the latter lost the case miserably.

Now, Atupere wants to look like a hero seeking comfort in both MCP, UTM and Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) ahead of May 21, 2020, fresh presidential elections.

Firstly, he met MCP leader Chakwera then Chilima but the duo failed to take him seriously for his immature and saliva for positions.

Blindly, Mutharika has trusted him to be back into fold with promise for runningmate posts or even to lead DPP during the fresh elections.

Now, the young Muluzi is going around meeting supporters as if he cares at.

Atupere run away while his counterparts were fighting for the wheels of justice to run in court only to appear at an eleventh hour for a photoshoot with Dr Laz and Dr Chilima on his way to sell himself.

And why should Mutharika and DPP trust that type of a person as a statesman?

We can do better as a nation towards fortune seekers whose interests are for their children, fathers not Malawians.

DPP must tread careful with this move as likely will be exodus; You think all DPP party gurus are happy with Mutharika decision to rope in misguided Atupere Muluzi?
