The Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS) has awarded management systems certification to four local companies, recognizing their commitment to quality and consistency in service and product delivery.
The certified companies are Lujeri Tea Estate, Project Peanut Butter, Signon Global Logistics, and Anchor Industries.
The certification ceremony, held at Mount Soche Hotel in Blantyre, was a significant milestone for the companies, demonstrating their adherence to international standards. MBS Director of Quality Assurance, Gloriaereka, praised the companies for their dedication to quality, noting that they have positioned themselves to compete more effectively on the international stage.
“By aligning their operations with global benchmarks, these companies have not only improved their products and services but also contributed to national economic growth,”ereka said. “With the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and other regional trade agreements in effect, certified companies stand to gain a competitive edge in cross-border commerce.”
The certification is a testament to the companies’ hard work and commitment to meeting international standards.
It is expected to have a positive impact on Malawi’s economy, enabling the companies to access new markets and increase their exports.
The AfCFTA agreement aims to create a single, large market for goods and services in Africa, boosting economic growth and development.
By certifying these companies, MBS is supporting the country’s efforts to tap into this market and increase its global competitiveness.
The certified companies are expected to serve as role models for other businesses in Malawi, demonstrating the importance of adhering to international standards.
MBS’s certification program is designed to promote quality and consistency in products and services, enhancing the country’s reputation and competitiveness in the global market.
The certification is also expected to attract foreign investment, as international companies look to partner with Malawian businesses that meet global standards.
This will contribute to the country’s economic growth and development, creating new opportunities for businesses and individuals alike.
The certification of these four local companies is a significant step towards promoting quality and competitiveness in Malawi.
MBS’s efforts to support businesses in meeting international standards will play a crucial role in shaping the country’s economic future.
