LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-President Lazarus Chakwera has reappointed three people to serve as Commissioners at the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC).
The three Commissioners whose contracts expired included Richard Chapweteka, Emmanuel Fabiano and Caroline Mfune.
The reappointment, which has been made upon recommendation of the Malawi Congress Party and the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), is effective 11 June, 2025.
This comes barely a day after Civil Society Elections Integrity Forum (CSEIF) asked Chakwera to swiftly appoint MEC commissioners for smooth running of the September 16, 2025 General elections.
