A truck in bad condition after an accident at Ntcheu Boma
BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)—Seven people are confirmed dead while several others have sustained injuries of various degrees following the mid-night road accident last night at Ntcheu Boma.
A truck loaded with bags full of maize and three passengers on board overturned, hitting pedestrians in the process.
Ntcheu District Health Office spokesperson, Stella Kawalala, told local media this morning that three people died on the spot while four died at the district hospital where they were being treated.
Meanwhile, four more are still admitted to the hospital for injuries sustained in the accident.
District Police spokesperson, Hastings Chigalu, says the truck overturned as the driver, now deceased, tried to avoid hitting a motor cyclist.
