The Blantyre Water Board Chief Executive Officer Daniel Chaweza, has been caught involved in dubious activities involving misusing company’s resources.
The revelation was made following a number of letters which Maravipost has seen involving the company’s Chief Executive Officer.
According to a memorandum which Maravipost has seen, the board issued on 17th September 2019 informing the director of finance that the Executive Management had introduced fuel cards for unplanned external trips by chief executive worth 600 litres per month.
However in the same month of September, Chaweza used about 874 litres contrary to the allocated amount by the management as indicated in paperwork authorized by director of finance Paul Chiumia.
During the month of December in the same year, Chief Executive Officer for Blantyre Water Board Daniel Chaweza, used about 1100 litres of fuel as indicated in another paperwork approved by the company’s chief Account Francois Chiwalo.
Mr Daniel Chaweza previously worked as Director of Distribution and Commerce of Blantyre Water Board before his appointment as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on 7th October 2017.
