BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Two civil groups, Concerned Citizens and Malawi First, have filed a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) over a K2.1 billion contract awarded to Luthando Holdings by the National Economic Empowerment Fund (NEEF).

According to a statement issued by leaders of the civil groups Bon Kalindo and Edward Kambanje, the contract involves supplying 100 motorcycles at K21 million each.

The allegations include lack of transparency, questionable capacity of Luthando Holdings, potential conflict of interest, suspicious pricing, possible breach of public procurement laws.

The groups claim that the contract award raises several red flags and urge the ACB to take immediate action.

They have since demanded ACB to investigate the procurement process, disclose all tender documents and evaluation reports, justify the contract awarded to Luthando Holdings just to mention a few.
