BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost )-In a bid to transform the transport landscape in the country, Gogo Technologies Limited (GTL) on Friday officially launched its cutting-edge ride-hailing app called Gogo App.
The App promises to offer reliable and convenient transport services across the country, connecting users with various transport options, including cars, motorcycles, and tricycles.
Speaking during the launch at ICA Hall in Lilongwe, GTL’s Board Chairperson, Enson Lwesya, highlighted the app’s key features.
“We are building a community where Malawians can access transport services without lengthy waits.Our service operates 24/7, aiming to establish a trusted and reliable local transportation industry,” he said.
He said the Gogo app allows users to book rides from the comfort of their homes or anywhere, eliminating the need to wait at taxi ranks or roadside stages.
He explained that a negotiation feature on the App enables users and operators to agree on fair prices before confirming rides.
On his part part,Deputy Minister of Transport and Public Works, Steve Baba Malondera, praised the initiative as a positive development for the transport sector.
“This innovation will drive economic growth, provide employment opportunities, and enhance the travel experience for tourists,” he said.
Malawi’s transport industry has long been in need of such technological advancements, and Gogo’s launch marks a significant step forward.
