LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Lilongwe-Lingadzi rotary club through Ladder to Learning project has donated 70 desks worthy MK1.4 million to Ngwenya primary school.

Making the donation on Saturday Lingadzi -Lilongwe Rotary Club President, Irshaad Mohammed noted the need of the desks few months ago when the grouping was donating 200 sanitary pads to the school.

Mohammed said the club also managed to make the donation with Swedish friends support who gave them US$600 dollars through fundraising.

He said the club aims at giving out over 1000 desks to the school as an argent needs.

Receiving the desks , Ladder to learning, Executive Director, Patience Khembo lauded the club for the timely support saying the school was in dire need of desks.

Khembo said the donation has helped to meet the project’s demand in promoting learning while bringing the gap of resources.

He said currently the club is also building literacy hub block for the school library.

On his part, Senior group, Grey Chipunga urged the community and the students to use the donation for intended purpose.

Chimpunga therefore called upon the club for more donations as the school is very much indeed of resources.
