Malawi Police arrest Tamia Ja over MK8 million theft

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Malawi Police in Lilongwe at Lingadzi Station this week arrested Tamia Ja, whose real name is Hannah Jabes over MK8 million theft allegations.

Lingadzi Police Station Publicist Cassim Manda confirmed the arrest on Jabes on Thursday afternoon, March 14, 2024.

“I can confirm that we have arrested Hannah Jabes, aka Tamia Ja, over theft allegations.

“She was arrested a few days ago after our officers received a complaint from a certain businessperson that Tamia Ja allegedly defrauded him of his K8, 000,000 after he mistakenly sent the cash to her account, which he wanted to send to someone,” explains Manda.

The police publicist adds, “At first, the suspect Tamia acknowledged receipt of the money and told the complainant that she was travelling to South Africa and would do the transactions when she gets back.

“Afterwards, Jabes started showing perverse behavior by not being willing to send back the money until her arrest”.

Jabes is currently on police bail while waiting for trial on theft charges.
