Police in Mzuzu have arrested seven individuals suspected of being involved in a series of robbery incidents and murder in Mzuzu City.

According to Maurice Chapola, spokesperson for the Northern Region Police, the suspects are accused of hacking to death a guard and injuring several others during the robberies.

The robberies targeted lodges, foreign nationals, and high-profile individuals.

Chapola has urged the public to join hands with the police in creating a safe city by reporting suspicious individuals and activities.

The police have been investigating the incidents, and Chapola has expressed optimism that the arrests will lead to a reduction in crime in the area.

He also emphasized that the police will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that the city is safe for everyone.

The suspects are currently in police custody and will appear in court soon to face charges.
