Pemba Rubber Stamps has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Mighty Wanderers FC by renewing its partnership with the club for the 2025 football season.
The rubber stamp makers will continue to sponsor the monthly player awards, a gesture that has been a boost to the team’s morale and performance.
During the signing ceremony in Blantyre, Dave Pemba, Managing Director of Pemba Rubber Stamps, announced that the monthly package has been increased from K1 million to K1.2 million.
The award winner will receive K300,000, while K900,000 will go towards driving lessons. Pemba emphasized that the initiative aims to equip players with skills beyond football, recognizing that the sport is a short career.
“Football is a short career, and we are determined to help as many players as possible find something to do once they retire from active football,” Pemba said.
This commitment underscores Pemba Rubber Stamps’ dedication to the welfare of the players, both on and off the pitch.
In total, Pemba Rubber Stamps will inject K13.8 million into the initiative this season.
The partnership, which began in the 2023 season, has been a significant morale booster for the players. Wisdom Mpinganjira, a striker for the team, has become the first winner of the accolade this season, emerging as the best player for the month of April after scoring three goals and providing the same number of assists.
Limbani Magomero, one of Wanderers’ directors, expressed gratitude to Pemba Rubber Stamps for its continued support. “We are grateful to Pemba Rubber Stamps for keeping faith in us,” Magomero said.
Head coach Bob Mpinganjira accompanied Magomero to the signing ceremony, further emphasizing the club’s appreciation for the partnership.
This renewed partnership is a testament to the strong bond between Pemba Rubber Stamps and Mighty Wanderers FC.
