GUANGXI-(MaraviPost)-China Eastern Airlines passenger plane ferrying 133 people has crashed in the countryside near Wuzhou city in the Guangxi region.
The provincial emergency management bureau confirmed the news adding that the accident caused a mountain fire.
The rescue teams were dispatched to the scene but meanwhile, casualties are still unknown.
The Civil Aviation Administration of China Eastern airlines has activated the emergency response mechanism following the crash, CNN reported.
The Eastern flight from Kunming to Guangzhou departed at 1.11 pm local time (0511 GMT), FlightRadar24 data showed.
The flight tracking ended at 2.22 pm local time (0622 GMT) an altitude of 3225 feet with a speed of 376 knots.
The plane had been due to land at 3:05pm local time.The twin-engine, single aisle Boeing 737 is one of the world’s most popular planes for short and medium-haul flights.

The last fatal plane crash in the country was in 2010, when 44 of 96 people on board were killed when an Embraer E-190 regional jet flown by Henan Airlines crashed on approach to Yichun airport in low visibility.
