BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)—Two big teams in the TNM Super League, fourth placed Mafco FC and Red Lions, on Sunday left the football pitches in total disbelief after conceding embarrassing defeats at the hands of the league debuts MTV Maxi Bullets and Karonga United respectively.
Maxi Bullets came from behind to beat MAFCO F.C 3-2 at Kamuzu stadium- a win that sees the rookies bag their first victory in their last match in the first round. The Salima based soldiers have themselves to blame for allowing the struggling rookies to cancel their two nil lead before Frazer Menyani scored the winner in the second half.
In Mzuzu, Karonga United pulled a second shocker beating Red Lions 2-1. This is the second time for Karonga to embarrass the giants as they also sensationally beat defending champions Nyasa Big Bullets some weeks ago.
.The results have seen Karonga United moving one step up with 11 points while Maxi Bullets are still anchoring the log table with 7 points.
Mafco has maintained fourth position despite the loss while Red Lions are on position 12 with 14 points.
Elsewhere, Blue Eagles failed to utilize home ground advantage to dislodge Silver Strikers on the top position after granting a goalless draw when playing against Nyasa Big Bullets at Nankhaka ground. The draw has put Silver and police men at par but the bankers have a superior goal margin.
