MZUZU (Maravi Post)—Its Christmas in June for Karonga United FC as they have registered their first ever win in the TNM Super League after sensationally beating the defending Champions Nyasa Bullets in a game which was fairly patronized at the Mzuzu Stadium on Sunday.

The brilliant rocket launched by Karonga United FC striker Mwenepeka from a free kick separated men from boys today as Big Bullets goal keeper Ernest Kakhobwe couldn’t help but to collect the ball, which was almost traveling at the speed of light, from the net.

Big Bullets senior official Billy Tewesa was quick to apologize to the millions of Bullets supporters in the country for the shameful loss.

He attributed the loss due to poor officiating saying the referee had let them down.

“We apologize for the loss but we promise to revenge when they come at our own backyard,” said Tewesa.

Karonga United FC Coach Kondwani Mwalwuni was over the moon.

“We have found the winning formula—we are building a team and we will continue doing so. We promised fans that we will deliver the first ever three points today,” said the coach.

Elsewhere, Mzuzu University FC had a nice journey in Malawi’s central region as they are returning back home with four points from a possible 6 points. They drew with giants Blue Eagles FC on Saturday before invading Chitowe stadium on Sunday with a 2-1 victory over Dwangwa United FC.
