LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The country’s green gold tobacco marketing season for 2022 opens on Thursday, March 31 in Lilongwe and Limbe floors.

In a press statement made available to The Maravi Post, Tobacco Commission (TC) Chief Executive Officer Dr. Chidanti Malunga says tobacco deliveries in two floors will commence on Monday, 21 March 2022.

Malunga, says that the commission will announce the dates for opening of Chinkhoma and Mzuzu Floors during the second week of April, 2022.

The 2022 tobacco marketing season will open on 31st March, starting with Lilongwe Floors followed by the opening of Limbe Floors on 5th April. Dates for the opening of Chinkhoma and Mzuzu Floors will be announced in the second week of April.

“Tobacco deliveries at Lilongwe and Limbe Floors will start on 21st March, 2022. In February, TC said this year’s sales would start earlier than in previous years for the economic benefit of growers,” reads part of TC statement.
