Investigation Discovery’s The Curious Case of… is coming back with a new set of episodes for season 2. While season 1 shared new insight and firsthand experiences from the people who knew most about the Natalia Grace case, the sophomore season is expected to keep viewers on the edge of their seats as the team dives into a handful of new surprising cases.

In anticipation of the show’s return, Us Weekly details what the true crime show is about, shares a glimpse into the cases that will be broken down and reveals when the new episodes will air.

Investigation Discovery Announces Season 2 of ‘The Curious Case of…’

Investigation Discovery announced that The Curious Case of … is coming back with eight new episodes in early 2026.

The new episodes promise to tackle bizarre cases filled with twists and shocking revelations as they’re told through first-hand accounts by those who know the stories best. Guided by legal analyst and expert Beth Karas, the new season will take an even deeper look into shocking crimes full of deception and obsession.

“When we launched The Curious Case of Natalia Grace, we never could have imagined how that story would take the world by storm, sparking headlines everywhere and even inspiring scripted versions on other platforms. The response was overwhelming and it quickly became ID’s highest-rated series, cementing its place as a cultural phenomenon,” said Jason Sarlanis, President of ID, said in a statement. “Knowing there were so many other ‘Curious Cases’ to tell, we expanded the franchise into an anthology that continued to captivate audiences and became our top-rated series of 2025. Now, with Season 2, we’re diving into even more stranger-than-fiction stories, each one a high-stakes puzzle full of twists, turns and unforgettable characters.”

Each episode promises to uncover deceit, greed and manipulation while proving the truth behind each mysterious case.

What Cases Will Be Discussed in ‘The Curious Case of…’ Season 2?

Following the success of season 1, the new batch of episodes will break down even more mysterious true crime cases.

The premiere episode will be called “The Curious Case Of… Death by Detox?” and will unpack the crimes of Dr. Robert O. Young after he created a platform amid the success of his pH Miracle book series.

The synopsis explained that Young’s pH Miracle book series pushed “an alkaline diet, the tentpole of which is an avocado-based green smoothie, that grows in popularity.” Young’s business quickly took off, and he found success selling books and holistic supplements. As his roster of wealthy, high-profile clients grew, his fans quickly learned that the health tips he was sharing weren’t the “miracle” cures he pitched them to be.

Other crimes that will be documented on the season will include one about a Russian woman who tried to steal the identity of a salon employee, an intense rivalry between two beauticians, a teacher who hypnotized his students that was faced with deadly consequences, a woman who committed several crimes while pretending to have cancer, a town impacted with several Tourette’s Syndrome diagnoses and a woman who took care of her late husband and sister’s corpses.

When Does ‘The Curious Case of…’ Season 2 Premiere?

Season 2 of The Curious Case of … will premiere on Monday, January 12, at 10 p.m. ET on ID, with each episode premiering weekly in the same time slot. Those who miss the live episodes will be able to stream them later on HBO Max.

Health tips! Five consequences of eating late night meals

Eating late at night is quite tempting and we all have done it eventually or other times in our lives. While getting a periodic light in between meals may not be of a specific issue,Making a habit of eating late at night can have serious long term impacts on your health and your overall well-being.

Late is usually within three hours of you going to sleep. So, if you work throughout the day and usually sleep from 12am-8 am, your “late” would be 9pm-12am.

At the end of the day, your body is going to metabolise whatever you put into it, and if you aren’t active enough to use up the energy you absorb from it, then it will be stored as fat which would eventually result in bad health.

Here are five consequences of eating late meals:

1. Weight Gain: Your body’s digestion slows down during the night. Likewise, it is not as effective in burning calories as it is during the day. Eating at night has long been associated with weight gain.

2. Effect on mental health: At the point when you haven’t slept as expected, you wake up feeling irritated and moody. Because of eating late, you mess with your body’s body clock. This results in higher chances of depression and anxiety.

3. Increased blood pressure: A misaligned body clock may have more serious repercussions including increased risk of heart diseases and diabetes. Studies have linked high blood pressure or hypertension and higher fasting blood sugar levels with the habit of eating later in the night or having dinner way past the ideal time of 7 pm.

4. Poor digestion: If you are prone to heartburn and acid reflux, you should probably be re-evaluating your meal timings. When you eat a late night dinner, it leads to several gastric issues. This is because the food doesn’t digest properly and results in excessive acid secretion in the stomach. This is why people are often advised to have a leisurely walk after eating their last meal of the day, instead of going straightaway to bed.

5. Disruption of sleep: Individuals who eat late generally tend to sleep late. This results in a disturbed sleep cycle. Also, this could be the explanation for confounding dreams at night.

A regular sex in humans made them smarter, with improved mental performance and increased neuron production to aid in long-term memories.

If you’re not having sex, your neuron function isn’t necessarily getting slower, per say; but it also isn’t getting any better.

Health tips: Seven reasons why too much salt is bad for you

We need salt to survive as our bodies rely on sodium for muscle contractions, nerve transmissions and the control systems for balancing body fluids, together with other electrolytes like potassium.

However, our bodies react negatively when we consume too much salt, and this can affect our brain, kidneys, arteries and heart.
The overuse of salt can cause chemical imbalances that can lead to death.

Salt is the major factor contributing to stroke and heart attacks in South Africa, claiming more lives each year than all forms of cancer combined. The World Health Organization recommends 5g per day; however, it is estimated that Africans use 8.5g.
Here is a list of reasons why too much salt is bad for your health:

1. Cardiovascular disease
Exceeding the recommended daily sodium intake contributes to a high risk of cardiovascular disease in adults. According to an article published in the
BMJ, high salt intake is associated with a significantly increased risk of stroke and cardiovascular disease.

2. Brain
According to the Journal of Nutrition, Health and Aging , high dietary sodium intake has been linked to hypertension and cardiovascular disease (CVD). The study also reveals that a high dietary sodium intake may impair cognitive function in older people.

3. Oedema
Swelling of the knees or feet and even your hands can be caused by oedema. An article published in Livestrong.com claims that a high sodium diet causes your body to retain water. Depending on the severity, it may be treated with either a change in diet or prescription medication.

4. Craving more salt/unhealthy foods
Consuming too much salt over a long period of time can make your taste buds accustomed to the taste, no longer registering how much salt you’re consuming.

5. Stomach cancer
Overconsumption of processed foods is harmful to your stomach. Reducing your bacon, sausages, high in salt and hidden fats can reduce your risk of stomach cancer, according to Consensus Action on Salt & Health . Men are more vulnerable than women.

6. Kidneys
Your kidneys help to remove waste products, balance fluid levels and control the production of red blood cells in your body. But with a high salt intake and high blood pressure combined, this can be lethal to your kidneys. According to an article published in Blood Pressure UK, this reduces your kidneys’ ability to filter out unwanted toxins.

7. Bloating
Eating out can leave you feeling bloated and the foods high in salt tend to be the culprit. Health24 previously reported that high sodium foods, usually processed foods, can cause the body to retain water. It is highly recommended that you read your food labels and refrain from adding salt, rather adding herbs or spices for flavour.
