DOWA-(MaraviPost)- In its continued corporate social responsibility drive in the education sector, the country’s main fuel importer, Petroleum Importation Limited (PIL), on Friday donated desks worth MK1.8 million to Kabwinja Community Day Secondary School (CDSS), in the central district of Dowa.
The desk donation is expected to improve girls’ enrollment at the school since students have been learning while sitting on the floor, due to lack of desks.
Established in 1997 with an enrollment of 100 students, Kabwinja has been operating without desks for 20 years. This year students will for the first time, sit for the Malawi School Certificate Education (MSCE) examination.
