NENO-(MaraviPost)-Malawi’s Vice President Saulos Chilima convoy was on Saturday noon, July 11, 2020 involved in a road accident along Zalewa road at Mtimaoyera near Phalula, Neno district.

Vice President office’ spokesperson Pilirani Phiri confirmed the accident saying Chilima was not hurt in any way.

Phiri further said two people are feared dead of the Vits vehicle registration number BN 8173.

“The accident involved one vehicle on the convoy which had a head on collision with another vehicle coming from the opposite direction, a Toyota Vitz which had four people on board, two of them are feared dead.

“The other two have been rushed to hospital together with the driver of the vehicle on the convoy. The Vice President was not affected in any way and he is fine. Balaka police officers are on the ground,” says Phiri.
