BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost )-Diplomats Car Hire on Tuesday supported the ‘Welcome to Maula Prison’ movie with K5 million sponsorship.

The company also provided a limousine to aid in the movie’s promotional efforts.

Speaking at a cheque presentation ceremony in Lilongwe, Deputy Managing Director of Diplomats Car Hire,Wezi Chiweta reiterated the company’s commitment to boosting local talent in the country.

“As a Malawian company, we are dedicated to fostering growth in the local film industry and contributing to the community’s economic development,” said Chiweta.

On his part,the movie’s producer,Kendall Kamwendo,expressed appreciation for the sponsorship.

“We are grateful for Diplomats Car Hire’s support, which underscores the value of collaborative efforts in advancing the creative sector,” he said.

‘Welcome to Maula Prison’ is slated for premiere in Lilongwe on 2 May 2025, Blantyre on 3 May 2025, and Mzuzu on 4 May 2025.
