Maranatha Academy partners with Sharda University on Malawian students’ scholarship programme

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Maranatha Academy on Tuesday organized a special event in collaboration with Sharda University, a renowned institution of higher learning based in India, aimed at enlightening parents and guardians about the university’s programs and academic environment.

Speaking to the media,in Blantyre,Managing Director of Maranatha Academy, Ernest Kaonga, said the event was designed to create an open platform for dialogue with parents.

He explained that there are ongoing collaborations between Maranatha and Sharda, which is why the school invited parents to attend the meeting.

“There are certain things Malawians are not fully aware of. This was an opportunity for them to ask questions and understand how the university operates,” Kaonga explained.

He further noted that Malawian schools are making significant progress, thanks to improved systems and approaches to education.

On his part, Sharda University’s Country Manager, Rahul Pal, expressed delight at the level of interest and engagement shown by parents during the session.

“We were impressed by the thoughtful questions from parents who wanted to know more about the university and the opportunities it offers,” Pal said.

He highlighted that Sharda University provides a wide range of programs, including Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and many others across various disciplines.

Similar events are scheduled to take place in other cities, with the next one set for next week at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe, followed by another at the Grand Palace Hotel in Mzuzu the week after.

India’ Sharda University increases scholarship intake for Malawians by 50%

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-One of the India’s leading higher learning institutions Sharda University has increased scholarships for this year’s Malawians students intake by 50%.

Sharda University on Monday, March 17, 2025 told the news conference in the capital Lilongwe that this year’s scholarships offer 200 places to Malawians to study at its campus in India.

The University’ Country Manager for Malawi Rahul Pal said the scholarships are aimed at supporting Malawi in training experts in various fields.

Pal added that those applying for various course, programme will not face challenges in processing tuition fees as are to be paid in local currency, Malawi Kwacha.

He assured the nation that the university will be impartial when offering scholarships to Malawians students.

Ministry of Education spokesperson Mphatso Nkuonera said, “This is in line with the Malawi 2063 vision which needs educated and skilled citizens to be achieved”.

Nkuonera also assured that only deserved students applying for the courses are given places to study at the University without favor, biased.

The university which was established through an act of the state legislature of Uttar Pradesh 14 of 2009 started offering scholarships to Malawian students in 2017 and so far over 300 students have benefited.

Indian Sharda University offers 50 scholarships to Malawian students

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Sharda University, an Indian based International University with prestigious A+ accreditation is inviting applications to Malawian students willing to pursue studies in various courses at the institution.

Through it’s partnership with Malawi’s Ministry of Education, Sharda University has announced a 50% tuition fee waiver for 50 Malawians wishing to study for graduate, postgraduate and research programmes at the institution.

“The 50 spaces provided fall under Sharda Corporate Social Responsibility Initiatives,” reads the announcement in part.

Sharda University, is a large institution with schools in Engineering and Technology, Business Studies, Law, Design, Architecture and Planning, Media, Film and Entertainment, Allied Health Sciences, Pharmacy, Medical Sciences and Research, Nursing Science and Research as well as Dental Sciences.

The announcement stipulates that the university is not demanding application fees, and the interested students should submit their applications not later than 21 August, 2024 through the Ministry of Education-Malawi.

“Applicants for Bachelor’s programmes should have six credits including English on their Malawi School Certificate of Education obtained not more than four years ago with an aggregate of not more than 36 points. Those applying for masters as PhD programmes should have Bachelor’s or Masters in their respective fields respectively,” the statement emphasises.

Ministry of Education Public Relations Officer Mphatso Nkuonera confirmed on the scholarships to be authentic that any eligible and well deserving Malawian can apply.

The scholarship slots offered will contribute towards fulfilment of the aspirations and thematic objectives of the National Education Sector Investment Plan (NESIP) 2020-2030, through which the Ministry of Education seeks to increase equitable access to higher education through the implementation of a number of strategies including increased participation of private sector as well as government partners in offering higher education.

Indian Sharda University gets praises from Malawi alumni

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Indian Sharda University has gained praises from former students for high standard of education being offered.

Malawian former students at Sharda told The Maravi Post on Saturday, May 18, 2024, in Lilongwe during interaction with the university’s authorities that the knowledge acquired at the institution is exceptional.

Faith Lilongwe, Nutrition and Dietetics graduate said, “Sharda University offers quality and dynamic programs that embrace other African cultures. I was at the university from 2022 that I graduated in Nutrition.

“I’m currently working at Global Hope as a Nutrition Assistant. Therefore, with the knowledge attained, I will be able to help my country help,” says Lilongwe.

She added, “My three stays in India were inspiring and learning about nutrition and cultural diversity which will help me in my work as a nutritionist. This is a high learning institution I will recommend many Malawians to enroll for academic excellence results”.

Sharda University’s International Relations Division Rahul Pal said the interaction sessions with former students aimed at learning about their experiences, and challenges met at the institution for improvement.

Pal assured Malawians for high quality education at the university.

“Our goal is to offer high-quality education to African countries including Malawi by exposing the student to modern technologies in agriculture, infrastructure, ICT, medicine, and others towards their country’s development agenda.

India’ Sharda University up with 54 scholarship seats for Malawian students

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-One of India’s high learning institution Sharda University on Thursday, March 30, 2023 announced 54 scholarship seats for Malawian students to study in that nation.

The scholarship is a shared cost arrangement whereby the university will provide tuition while students meet subsided accommodation facilities in capital Delhi, India.

The announcement comes after Sharda University and Ministry of Education in Malawi signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 2018 to arrange best of the higher and technical education.

The scholarship is meant for Malawian people to build the capacity of emerging Malawi in the field of Computer sciences, Information technology, Engineering, Production, Allied Health Sciences, Medicine, Business, Pharmacy and Nursing.

Addressing the news conference at Ministry of Education headquarters at capital Hill in Lilongwe, Sharda University’s Assistant Director on International Relations Sudhir Kumar Pandey said the scholarship applications opens till May, 2023.

Pandey therefore encouraged Malawian students to apply once its advertised in local news papers.

“Sharda Malawi scholarship has been playing a supportive role in achieving the objectives of Malawi Vision 2063 through skilling the brightest minds of Malawi with modern education and technologies.

“Sharda University offers Internationally recognized Under graduate, Post Graduate and PhD Degrees and Sharda is the Number-1 University in India with highest number of International Students as per the latest survey of Association of Indian Universities & students from 95+ countries have experienced Sharda University,” he said.

Pandey added, “Sharda University has continuously ranked in top universities and holds prestigious NAAC “A+” Accreditation, Sharda University is a ‘Gold’ Rating university under the prestigious QS I- Gauge Ratings.

“We are therefore offering 54 seats for Malawian students on shared costs arrangement. This shared cost is meant for sustainability of the program. Malawian students must be assured of cost effective accommodation in the capital Delhi. This is very subsided program”.

Ministry of Education’s deputy director for Higher learning Dr. Velentino Zimpita assured the nation that only eligible candidates will be enrolled into the program.

“We will make sure that only eligible students are offered the opportunity not Jim and jack that we don’t compromise the program’s quality standards,” assures Zimpita.

Sharda University is expected also to introduce online learning scholarship programs in the middle of this year.
