When a servant of God speaks, the wise listen. These were the words echoing from the lips of Wiseman Daniel—one of the known prophetic voices in Nigeria. Years before it happened, he gave a mysterious prophecy that many people now believe was referring to the recent passing of Nigeria’s former President, Muhammadu Buhari.
In one of his prophetic messages, Wiseman Daniel spoke in parables, using the image of a farmland with big trees. He said some trees were still receiving nutrients (strength and support), but others had stopped receiving nutrients and were going to fall.
Among the trees, he pointed out one that had the letters “A”, “P”, and “C” boldly written on it—clearly referencing the All Progressives Congress (APC), Buhari’s political party.
He said:
“This big tree is already shaking from the roots. Is it about to fall or what? I’m not saying it’s about to fall… I’m asking, is it about to fall or what? Let us pray that it does not fall before the year 2023.”
This prophetic statement left many wondering at the time. But now, after the death of President Buhari, many are connecting the dots.
On a sad and historic day, the nation woke up to the news of former President Muhammadu Buhari’s death in a London hospital. He had been battling a long-term illness. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his successor, announced the news and ordered Nigerian flags to fly at half-mast in his honor. Vice President Kashim Shettima was sent to London to accompany the former president’s body back home.
President Buhari was born on December 17, 1942, in Daura, Katsina State. He joined the Nigerian Army in 1962, fought in the civil war, and rose through the ranks. He became military Head of State in 1983 after leading a coup but was later removed in 1985.
After years in and out of politics, Buhari was finally elected as a civilian president in 2015 under the APC—becoming the first opposition candidate to defeat an incumbent president in Nigeria’s history. He was re-elected in 2019.
His leadership was known for its tough stance on corruption, although critics often called him too rigid and accused him of favoring some groups over others. He also battled insecurity, including the threat of Boko Haram.
While many praised him for his personal honesty and military discipline, others criticized him for not doing enough to solve problems like unemployment, poor healthcare, and rising violence in the country.
Buhari survived a coup, multiple election defeats, health challenges, and even an assassination attempt. Despite these obstacles, he remained one of Nigeria’s most talked-about leaders.
But as time passed, his health declined, leading to many medical trips abroad. Rumors about his health and even his death filled the media, but official sources often stayed silent, adding to the confusion.
Now that he has finally passed, some Nigerians are looking back at Wiseman Daniel’s prophecy and saying: “Was this the big tree he warned about?”
Wiseman Daniel did not mention Buhari’s name directly. But his reference to a tree marked “A”, “P”, and “C” shaking from the roots, and his prayer that it should not fall before 2023, now seems to align with the reality that Buhari passed away shortly after leaving office.
According to Deuteronomy 18:22:
“When a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken…”
But in this case, the event has happened.
Many now believe Wiseman Daniel foresaw the passing of Buhari in a divine vision but chose to present it in a coded way to avoid controversy. His message is a reminder that God still speaks, and those with spiritual ears should listen.
Whether you believe in prophecy or not, one thing is clear: the fall of Buhari, the “big tree”, has indeed shaken Nigeria and Africa.
