LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-After winning the inaugural MK5 million Nyasa Capital Finance Regional Cup days ago, Leo Ferguson Mpulula, Silver Strikers Reserve coach, has said now they are targeting to lift MK2.5 million Dimba Trophy.
Mpulula has stated this ahead of their game against Wimbe United on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Aubrey Dimba ground in Mchinji in the quarterfinals.
The winner between the two will face the Mzuzu based Simso outfits, Bright Stars, on Sunday 19th December in the first semi-finals of the trophy.He said after winning the cup, his boys have gained momentum and are looking forward to winning another cup before the year ends.
He added that they are not underrating Wimbe United saying it is a good side but vowed to reduce them to nothing on Saturday.
James Mataya, Wimbe United Chairman, said after their losses on a row against Kamuzu Barracks RSV, St Gabriel Medicals and Dedza Dynamos in Nyasa Capital Finance Regional Cup and Chipiku Premier Division League respectively, they have now rectified their weaknesses and are ready to give out their best on Saturday against Leo Mpulula’s Silver at the same time progressing into the next stage of the trophy.
Bright Stars Chairman, Jonas Mvula, said they are preparing for any team that dare to come on their way and promise to punish it so severely on Sunday.
Mvula further said,they want to take the cup to the Northern region the way their brothers Jenda FC did last time.Aubrey Dimba, the Sponsor of the trophy, said everything is in order for the teams to play both Saturday and Sunday.
Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve, Kamuzu Barracks FC and Bright Stars already reached the semifinals of the trophy. Enos Chatama’s boys will play against Kamuzu Barracks RSV who were whipped by six goals to two in Nyasa Capital Finance Regional Cup by Silver Strikers.
