Sibale: We are ready for the battle

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Policemen from the National Police Headquarters in Lilongwe, Blue Eagles FC, are in the Southern Region hunting for the Nomadic people in the Airtel top 8.

The Cops are meeting the Lali Lubani outfit in the second semifinal of the 5th edition of Airtel top 8 at the Kamuzu Stadium.

Obviously, policemen will be hunting the Nomadic people who are just wondering in the Commercial City.

The men in uniform are on a special operation in the south, well sponsored by Airtel Malawi which has offered them Voice and internet bundles for easy communication as they execute their duties this afternoon.

Blue Eagles FC which were the champions of the second edition of the cup in 2018 after defeating Nyasa Big Bullets FC 1-0 through a penalty scored by Stuart Mbunge at Bingu Stadium, qualified to the semifinal of this year’s semifinal on 3-2 aggregate over Dedza Dynamos FC.

Eagles won 3-0 at home Nankhaka Stadium courtesy of Christopher Gototo, Richard Rapson and Micium Mhone’s goals.

However, the law enforcers lost 0-2 in the return leg away in Dedza.

Clement Nyondo was the Airtel Money agent for the Dynamos FC scoring all the two goals.

The Nomads well known as Nyerere with their fans, sailed through into the semifinal after disconnecting the Airtel Internet at Malawi Armed Forces College (MAFCO) 4-0 aggregate.

Wanderers won 2-0 in their opening game at Kamuzu Stadium, before thrashing the soldiers 2-0 away in Chitowe Stadium in the return leg.

Blue Eagles FC have of recent past enjoyed a good form over Might Wanderers FC, beating them 3-1 in the last game of the 2021 TNM Superleague season.

This year Nomads managed to donate four points to Blue Eagles FC after equaling power in Blantyre and lost 1-0 at Nankhaka Stadium.

Christopher Sibale, Assistant Coach Blue Eagles FC, says Policemen are in the commercial city with a crucial mission which at all cost need to be achieved by the end of the day.

Sibale added his troops are well prepared for the battle, and indicated that his boys have been warned against complacency and disregard the element that they have been defeating the Nomads.

“This is a cup game,if we win today, we are in the final so no time for relaxation in our boys,as Blue Eagles FC we are looking forward to win the cup which we last won in 2018”,

The winner between the two this afternoon, battle it out with Nyasa Big Bullets FC in the final at Bingu Stadium on December 17, 2022.

If Blue Eagles FC makes it to the final,then it will be the repeat of the 2018 Airtel top 8 final in the Capital, Lilongwe.
