Malawi court rejects Prophet Bushiri’s request to dismiss extraction case entirely

…Case adjourned October 10, 2023 for state witness parade….

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Lilongwe Chief Resident Magistrate Court on Monday, September 11, 2023 rejected Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and wife Mary’s application that extradition case be dissmissed entirely in which South Africa is pursuing.

Chief Resident Magistrate Madalitso Chimwaza observes that said Prophet Bushiri’s application was premature as no any document had been tendered as evidence before court.

Magistrate Chimwaza however agreed with the Bushiris that the documents which the South African authorities want to use as evidence were not duly authenticated hence may not be admissible.

The court has since adjourned the matter to October 10, 2023 when the state will parade a witness from South Africa.

Prophet Bushiri and wife Mary fred in South Africa two years ago for fear of their lives amid assassination attempts.

South Africa government is accusing the couple of defrauding that nation’s citizens 2 million rands through dubious means hence extradition case.
