LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Ministry of Education in conjunction with the Malawi National Examinations Board (Maneb) has released the 2023 Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) with a 54.4% pass rate.
This is a decline from the 2022 MSCE which was a 58% pass-rate.
Out of the 154, 132 candidates who sat for this year’s MSCE examinations, 83, 846 have passed representing a pass rate of 54.40 percent.
The examinations were leakage-free with only four cheating cases in which students involved were suspended.
Deputy Minister of Education Nancy Mdooko lauded Maneb for being leakage-free.
Mdoko however assured the nation of serious evaluation of the results as to why some schools failed miserably the exams
Meanwhile, Maneb’s Executive Director Professor Dorothy Nampota hinted that will not share examination results on social media or on its website.
Candidates will be able to access the exam results from Thursday, September 14, 2023, at writing centers across the country.
Below are the key highlights of the Maneb Statement:
Out of 154,132 candidates that sat for this examination, 83,846 have passed. This represents an overall pass rate of 54.40%.
Out of 72,056 female candidates who sat for this examination, 34,721 have passed. This represents a 48.15% pass rate.
- Out of 82,076 male candidates who sat for this examination, 9,125 have passed. This represents 59.85% pass rate.
Out of 531 Special Needs Education (SNE) candidates that sat for
Out of 273 male SNE candidates that sat for this examination, 160 his examination, and 305 have passed. This represents 57.44% pass rate.
Candidates should access their results at the centers where they registered for the examination.
- All candidates who wish to query their results should do so in writing through their heads of school.
- All queries should reach MANEB by 31st October 2023. After this date, no further queries will be considered.
- MANEB will not consider any query about the results made directly to the Board by candidates or any other individual.
