Prophet Bushiri’s Goshen City dumps FAMA

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Prophet Shepherd Bushiri’s Goshen City has ended romantic relationship had with Film Association of Malawi (FAM) over reasons yet to be disclosed.

The termination of the relationship comes barely weeks after FAMA under Dorothy Shonga Kingston poorly organised Film Year Awards in the capital Lilongwe.

Despite Bushiri pumping MK100 million towards the event, FAMA failed to bring Nigerian and Ghanaian film makers as planned.

Dorothy leadership failed account to funds as to why international film makers were not available during the event.

The event only feature one movie actor from South Africa.

But in a statement issued on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, justified the end of the relationship with FAMA over internal review of partnerships.

Prophet Bushiri says the decision allows both organizations to pursue their objectives independently with Goshen City focusing on its core goals.

Goshen City therefore has reaffirmed their commitment to continue supporting the creative and cultural sectors in the country.

The firm’s management further states that they are open to future collaborations aligning with their values.

But what has gone wrong? Isn’t this wrong timing?
