Member of Parliament for Mulanje South Constituency, Bon Kalindo who is also deputy publicity secretary of ruling Democratic Progressive is showing some Kahunas of late.
Bon Kalindo has come to the defence of President Peter Mutharika, saying that the economic hardships currently facing Malawi were a legacy that he inherited from Joyce Banda a fact many agitators appear to completely ignore.
Speaking during a parliamentary address on Tuesday, Bon Kalindo blamed former President Joyce Banda for Malawi’s current economic woes.
Kalindo said that the suspension of aid to the country was caused by revelations about funds that were being stolen from government coffers. This happened during Joyce Banda’s rule and she actively remain a suspect as the ring leader.
Kalindo statement came amid severe hardships faced by most of the Malawi population, with some citizens having to sleep in long queues in order to obtain maize from aid donors.
On Gay Rights
Bon Kalindo promises to vote against the recognition of gay rights in the country should the bill at any time be tabled in the august House.
Constituents from Mulanje South who were the first to make the call, recently told their Member of Parliament Bon Kalindo to stand firm against the bill claiming they were all against the idea.
