Malawi electoral body ready for Lilongwe South By-Elections

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) says is ready to conduct the much awaited Lilongwe South by Elections.

Mec Chairperson Justice Dr Jane Ansah told the news conference on Monday in the capital Lilongwe that the commission got assurance from Chiefs and various stakeholders that there will not be cases of violence during Campaign period.

MEC Postponed by Elections in October, 2019 due to clashes by supporters of rival candidates.

Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) are among Major Political Parties Excepted to take part in the by Elections while UTM party withdrew its participation in the elections.
