CHITIPA-(MaraviPost)-A 24-year-old man Kone kaonga lost his life after being hit by a motor vehicle near Meru filling station at Chitipa Boma.
The incident occurred on April 27, 2020, around 10pm.
According the district police spokesperson Gladwell Simwakwa, the unknown motor vehicle that was coming from Chitipa and heading to Karonga hit a male pedestrian, who
sustained multiple fractures on his legs and chest and died on the spot. The vehicle sped off.
Postmortem conducted at Chitipa District Hospital showed that death was due to severe loss of blood secondary to serious injuries.
The deceased hailed from Namasasa village, Traditional Authority (T.A) Mwaulambia in Chitipa district.
Meanwhile, Police in the district are appealing to anyone with any information that may lead to the identification of the Motor vehicle and arresting of the driver, to come forth.
