Malawi’s veteran actor Elson Soko “Anyoni” dies

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-One of Malawi’s well known veteran actors Elson Soko, popularly known as Anyoni, has died.

He passed on Saturday, August 15, 2020 evening at the Blantyre Adventist Hospital.

He was admitted earlier this week after Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) staff cheered him at his home in Machinjiri township, Blantyre.

The National Broadcaster facilitated his admissionadding.

The relation says Soko had for a long time struggled with a heart problem.

He was, for decades, a popular feature in MBC’s Pamajiga radio play.

Anyoni will be remembered for the popular radio play ‘pamajiga’ where he played a central role.
