Standard bank building in Malawi’s Capital on fire

October: Lilongwe Old Town Standard Bank is on fire. Eyewitness reports on the ground say the cause of the fire is unknown Witness calling maravipost say Lilongwe City Council (LCC) fire engines are on the ground trying to put out the blaze.

 

The LCC fire engines were struggling to put out the fire as it took them over 10 minutes to put in order their equipment to start getting out the water.

worse still the water was not coming out in required quantities and it had to take fire engines from Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) to put the situation to bed.

There is only billowing smoke now after the good job done by KIA fire engines

Malawi has recently seen a lot of fires that has seen markets and other buildings been burnt.
