A Lilongwe based minibus driver, Ganizani Phiri, has been handed over the MK50 million, the grand prize of Airtel’s Tisangalale 50 promotion, he won last week.
Area 25 was engulfed with ululations and cheers as the Airtel crew paraded a convoy to deliver the cheque to Phiri at his residence.
Making the presentation, Airtel’s Chief Commercial Officer Charles Kamoto said the giving the MK50 million was historical and a climax of celebrating Malawi’s 50 years of independence.
“It is an amazing moment for Airtel, a memorable moment for Mr Ganizani Phiri and a highly billed historical moment for mother Malawi. You see, this is how life changing the brand airtel is! For sure, the 50th independence anniversary celebrations cannot get any better and bigger than this,” said Kamoto.
Phiri was all smiles that confessed that this moment was an unbelievable highest point of his life. He hailed Airtel for coming up with the Tisangalale 50 promotion.
“I am speechless, it has been an unbelievable experience for me. My life is a testimony, it is bound to change forever. Thanks so much to Airtel, God bless you,” said a seemingly joyful Phiri, sunk in deep happiness.
He said he would take his time to decide how to spend the Mk50 million, a historical grand prize in the country ever.
Meanwhile, Airtel Malawi says it would continue growing its life changing adventure in the country.
