BLANTYRE (Maravipost)–The Football Association of Malawi (Fam) has started selling tickets for Flames Group B Afcon qualifier match against Algeria on October 11.
The pre-selling of tickets, according to FAM, aims at allowing Flames’ fans buy the tickets this moth end than to sell them middle October.
“The match will be played middle of the month so with the salaries people will get this month end, they will be able to buy the ticket and keep in their homes so they won’t have to buy the ticket in the middle of October,” said Dan Tambala, FAM Marketing Manager.
The tickets will be available starting today, Tuesday, September 30 2014 in all 25 designated selling points, including Blantyre Youth Centre, Kamuzu stadium and FAM offices at Chiwembe Technical Centre.
FAM Chief Executive Officer Suzyo nyirenda urged fans to buy the tickets now to avoid the trouble of fighting for tickets hours before the game.
Elsewhere, he says, people buy tickets even two months before the game.
“Come October 11 (on the day of the match at 2pm) you will see some people loitering around the stadium asking to buy a ticket.
“Pre-selling reduces congestion on the day of the match and it takes away the trouble of you fighting for a ticket some hours before the game,” he said.
The Flames lost their first Group B Afcon qualifier match 2-0 to Mali before collecting their three point after 3-2 home win over Ethiopia.
