Carlsberg Malawi factory in Blantyre again gutted by fire

Carlsberg Malawi again lost properties worth millions of Kwacha, after its factory was gutted by fire in the commercial city of Blantyre in Friday.

According to an internal source, this occurred in the evening.
The source said two workers sustained injuries during the fire, which took place at the Carlsberg premises in the brewery section.
“Part of the brewery section is under fire; this started when some technicians were working at the section near highly flammable chemicals,” said the source.
The fire fighters failed to control the fire, according to the source said. The brewery authorities, are yet to issue a statement on the incident and the amount of the properties affected.
Recently, another part of the brewery section was also gutted by fire that destroyed a number of properties due to unknown reason.
Carlsberg Malawi has been having maintenance works at the brewery section for a while now.
