LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Malawi Police Commissioner for Central West Region Peter Chasweka has hailed the area 30 outfits Blue Eagles FC for their support in community mobilization during the massive awareness campaign against mob justice, gender based violence and other uncalled for morals done by the communities across the country.

Chasweka made the sentiments ahead of Wednesday’s function slated to take place in Mchinji District at Traditional Authority (T.A) Mlonyeni’s headquarters.

The Police Commissioner said Blue Eagles FC plays a great role in community mobilization which results in good turn ups in their awareness campaigns which Community Policing has been conducting in the country.

He added that many people in the country likes football and Blue Eagles FC is one of the biggest club hence when they note that it will be available on the function, the turn up ends to be good.

The commissioner says many wants to see the big names they just hear on the radios playing hence getting the needed information on dangers of mob justice, Gender based Violences and any type of Hooliganism.

“The meeting in Mchinji is very important as it will help in rebuilding our relationship with the communities of the area which has been sour for the recent past, as such doing so Police and Civilians will amicably interact.

“Blue Eagles FC is a major tool which draws many people to grace our functions especially the youths who are also the main victims”, said Chasweka

Chasweka however appealed to people of Mchinji especially from Traditional Authority Mlonyeni to grace the occasion and pick up vital information which will help in curbing crimes in the area.

Few months ago,Blue Eagles FC was also involved in the similar occasions which took place in Karonga district in the Northern Region, Kauma and Nsundwe Townships in Lilongwe.
