Copper Queens coach Hauptle names strong squad for 3-Nations Tournament

LUSAKA-(MaraviPost)-Copper Queens head coach Nora Hauptle has named a strong 26-member squad for the FIFA Window Three-Nations Tournament to be hosted by Malawi.

United States based Rachael Kundananji who is on the books of Bay FC will lead the squad in the absence of the injured skipper Barbra Banda.

The squad also has seasoned campaigners like Mary Wilombe, Rachael Nachula, Grace Chanda, Kabange Mupopo, Lushomo Mweemba, Martha Tembo and Susan Banda among others.

Hauptle has retained the core of the squad that secured qualification for the Morocco 2026 Women Africa Cup of Nations.

Under-17 Women National Team skipper Mercy Chipasula, goalie Chishala Mfunte and defender Margaret Gondwe.

The Three-Nation tournament will have hosts Malawi, Zimbabwe and Zambia.

Zambia and Malawi are using this tournament to prepare for the WAFCON where they have both qualified.

The 3-Nation tournament will run from November 28 to December 2 in Lilongwe.
