LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Blue Eagles Reserve FC has maintained the winning form in the second round of UNAYO Standard Bank Central Region division one league.
The area 30 based side defeated Salima based side Amboya 3-0 at Nankhaka Stadium on Saturday, October 22, 2022.Steven Msiska, Christopher July and Benjamin Kalinga scored in the first half.
However the game failed to produce more goals in the second half as the visitors looked organized denying the host chances of penetrating through their midfield and defence.
Saturday’s win means Eagles RSV has won two games back to back following their 1-3 victory in their first game of round two against Kamba FC in area 36 last week.
The win means Blue Eagles RSV FC still lead group B with 6 points from 2 games and they have managed to score 6 goals and concede just one goal.
Ackimo Kazombo, Blue Eagles RSV FC coach, was delighted for the win saying their aim is to continue using Standard Bank UNAYO platform accordingly and win it by the end of the season.
“The boys played well hence scoring the three goals,we missed some chances but we will rectify them as we play our third game next week.Our counterparts played well in the second half and we managed to contain them.We maintain this winning formula”, Kazombo joyfully said.
His counterpart George Phiri, Amboya FC Coach, acknowledged the defeat saying the game was good as his boys played well as if they were at home but failed to score hence the defeat.
“Luck was not to our side. The future is brighter for Amboya our target is to win the championship and get the Premier division slot. We come from the Village and it was the first time to play on such ground. The officiation was good today, I can’t blame it”, Phiri said.
Other Saturday’s results,Santhe ADMARC FC defeated Kamba FC 1-0 at Santhe Kasungu with a goal from Gift Mashoni and Hope Academy FC registered their first win in the second round against Make Sure Pirates FC 3-2.
The games in Standard Bank UNAYO Central Region continues on Sunday with more exciting fixtures as Nsaru United FC entertain Lizulu Super Stars FC at Nsaru ground, Balang’ombe Real Bombers host Zaithwa FC at Mwankha ground while Obings Pirates FC host Kasiya Hungry Tigers FC at Chimwala ground.
The top three teams from the two groups will make it to the final round of the UNAYO Division one league.
They will battle it home and away in the final round.
The top team wins the championship and will be promoted in CRFA Premier division with the second and third placed teams.
