LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Malawi President Lazarus Chakwera on Thursday, June 6, 202
held talks with Israel’s Ambassador to Malawi Michael Lotem in order to follow up on the progress of the Labour Export agreement, that was signed between the government of Malawi and the State of Israel.

The monumental agreement has paved way for the unprecedented export of skilled labour from Malawi, to boost the Agriculture industry in Israel.
To this end the Israeli ambassador has applauded President Chakwera’s swiftness to implement the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), making Malawi the first country in Africa, to establish and implement an MOU that provides for the export of a skilled labour force, specifically for the agriculture industry.
Chakwera therefore said was impressed by Malawi’s efforts that the government of Israel is now keen to extend the initiative to the construction industry, which will potentially see Malawian youths taking up employment in Israel’s construction industry, aiding revenue generation for the country and increasing overall GDP.
