NAIROBI-(MaraviPost)-A 17-year-old girl in Athiru Rujine area, Meru County has been defiled and her eyes gouged out by boda boda operator who offered her a free ride.
The station’s Chief Inspector of Igembe Central police, Ezra Zambu, confirmed the incident on Friday, February 25, 2022.
According to Zambu, the victim accepted a free ride from the boda boda operator on Thursday at around 5pm, from Mau to Laare, her home.
The suspect, who’s currently on the run, however, did not stop when they reached the girl’s destination, instead proceeding to venture into the forest, Citizen Digital reported.
He allegedly defiled the minor before gouging her eyes out and abandoning her at Meea forest, along Laare-Ndumuru road.
She was rescued by a Good Samaritan who encountered her in the said forest and reported the matter to Laare Police Station.
The victim is currently receiving treatment at Meru Referral Hospital while police continue with investigations in a bid to bring the culprit to book.
