BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-A buffalo that claimed two people lives in Jombo village, Chikwawa, has been killed by police and Lengwe National Park ranger.

The incident occurred after the buffalo attacked and killed a 65-year-old woman and a four-month-old baby, while seriously injuring three others.

According to Chikwawa Police Public Relations Officer, Sergeant Dickson Matemba, the injured are currently receiving treatment at Chikwawa District Hospital.

Matemba advised against chasing or injuring wild animals, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing safety.

This incident highlights the need for communities to work with wildlife authorities to prevent human-wildlife conflicts.

The authorities continue to monitor the situation and take measures to ensure public safety.
