BLANTYRE (MaraviPost) — Malawi Armed Forces College (Mafco) Football Club have recalled suspended all-time leading scorer Callisto Kalinda.
Kalinda was serving a suspension slapped on him on disciplinary allegations, which made him miss four games.
“Yes, I’ve been called to start training,” Kalinda told MaraviPost.
Kalinda who was last season’s top goal scorer in the local elite league was suspended when he left for Blantyre without informing coach Stereo Gondwe.
“Before I left I told the team manager (Godfrey Makawano) and I thought this was enough but the coach wasn’nt pleased as he said I was supposed to inform him about my trip,” said Kalinda.
Both Gondwe and Makawano were not readily available for comment.
Kalinda has seven goals in the league and he leads as top goal scorer at Mafco FC.
Mafco have lost two games, won one and drew one in the absence of Kalinda.
