Malawi police arrest 22 Ethiopians for illegal entry

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Malawi police in Dowa, Mponela station are keeping in custody 22 Ethiopians for illegal entry into Malawi.

The suspects were arrested on March 21,2022 at Nambuma Trading Centre around 22:30 hours.

Ethiopians arrested

Mponera Police station publicist Macpatson Msadala told The Maravi Post that officers from Nambuma Police Unit received a tip from well wishers that two minibuses carrying illegal immigrants were being driven from the direction of Chimwaza Trading Centre heading Nambuma Trading Centre.

“Following the tip law enforcers intercepted one minibus registration number KK 8907 red in colour carrying 22 Ethiopians who were on their way to Zambia.

“They will appear before court soon to answer charges of illegal entry,” says Msadala.

Mponela Police Station is advising people to report to police about any suspicious people around its jurisdiction.
