MZUZU-(MaraviPost)-The Citizens For Transformation (CFT) movement on Saturday, June 20, 2020 called upon the Malawi’ Electoral Commission (MEC) to ensure that forthcoming fresh presidential polls be free, fair and credible.
Addressing the news conference in Mzuzu CFT commander in Chief Timothy Mtambo emphasized the need for Malawi to start moving forward for new leadership .
Mtambo who confidently told the media that it endorsed Chakwera-Chilima presidency on reasons to benefit all Malawians.
According to the issued statement titled “Highlighting the Path to Malawi’ desired destiny”, Mtambo observed that President Peter Mutharika government has completely failed Malawians and deserves no chance to be voted again.
He added that Mutharika has demonstrated to be the champion of violention of the rule of law and that his intention is to perpetuate looting of public resources and dismissal or attempts to remove from positions all those seem to work against his will regardless of their professional conduct in serving Malawians among many reasons.
He further said that under Mutharika Malawi remains hopeless with no direction hence now its time for his regime to go.
CFT leader said its clear that Chakwera-Chilima leadership will offer transformative leadership that will revamp the economy of Malawi and bring relief to many Malawians facing numerous challenges.
Mtambo flanked by some CFT leaders sent a strong message to MDF and MPS being security agents to remember the oath of protecting the citizens in executing duties ahead, during and after election so that Malawi remains a peaceful nation that all Malawians will be proud of.
