Parley to probe ADMARC fire

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture is set to investigate the fire that burnt down the Agriculture Development Marketing Corporation (ADMARC) in Area 4 in the capital Lilongwe.

Chairperson for the Committee, Sammer Suleiman revealed this in an interview on Monday, September 11, 2023.

Suleiman said the committee is hearing different stories about the fire, “I hope the fire that was not set up in order to cover some information or evidence”.

He said there should be a full and detailed investigation immediately that Malawians, “As the owners of Admarc must know the truth”.

Suleiman added that the committee will start meeting soon and the matter will be discussed.

“What we are saying is that investigations should start now,” he.

Recently Media reports indicate that ADMARC depots do not have maize against Agriculture Minister Sam Kawale’s assurance.

Area 4 ADMARC deport gut fire on Saturday, September 9, 2023 till now the cause of the fire is not yet known.
