
BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)—Malawi President Arthur Peter Mutharika has appointed former Malawi Defence (MDF) Commander General Vincent Nundwe (Rtd) as Malawi’s High Commissioner to the Republic of India.
According to an announcement from the office of the Chief Secretary to the Government, Retired General Nundwe’s diplomatic appointment is subject to confirmation by the Public Appointments Committee of parliament.
Mutharika dismissed Vincent Nundwe and his deputy Clement Namangale and replaced them with Peter Namathanga as the new Commander and Davis Sesatino Mtachi as his deputy.
Nundwe was the fourth MDF commander to be dismissed under President Mutharika’s five-year rule. Others are Henry Odillo, Ignacio Maulana and Griffin-Supuni Phiri.
