Commenting, Malitso Mussa, whose articles under tales of time column used to attract rage from late Bingu Wa Mutharika, has applauded the president for rising to the occasion.
“Tonight, President Peter Mutharika sounded like a president. Bravo Mr President, sir. Good and serious measures taken. My fervent hope is that they will be implemented,” wrote Musa on his Facebook timeline.
Analytical as he is, Musa also advised the DPP gurus to stop attacking critics of the Mutharika’s leadership saying not all tirades on president’s acts are out of malice.
“What we must say tonight is this: After the rare applauses, those who still have tinges of sanity from the governing camp must know that the tirades on the president’s acts are not out of malice but benevolence for our good country, Our nation. We all need the best for this country. Let us sober up. Our crisis is not just the Covid-19.
“Our crises are beyond that. Corruption, tribalism, impunity, disregard in the provision of essential needs must have been attended to with utmost speed. Why should leaders isolate crises? Come, let us reason together. Is it not late that our leader decided to APPEAR one? This country, as I have always put it, belongs to us all and we must do things for us all,” he said.
Mutharika has also been applauded by opposition parties and different privates sectors.
Musa, together with late Raphael Tenthani who was corresponding for BBC, came to limelight during the reign of Bingu Wa Mutharika due to their articles which appeared more biting on the part of the ruling DPP and the then president.
