Son to Malawi High Commissioner to Kenya killed in Limuru

Former Capital Radio reporter Denis Chirwa, son to former Malawi Defence Force Brigadier and current Malawi’s ambassador to Kenya, Marcel Chirwa, has died.

Chirwa, who also worked for the Malawi Electoral Commission (Mec) as stringer between 2004 and 2005, was stabbed to death by unknown thugs when he went on a night out with friends.

 

According to Kenya’s Standard Digital, Chirwa, a third year student at St Pauls University in Limuru, was stabbed severely in the head and his body and died spot on Saturday night.

The attacker robbed him of his mobile phone and other personal items.

His colleagues told the paper that they had been at a local bar watching football at about 7pm when the incident happened.

The attackers escaped after the incident and no arrest have been made so far.
