BLANTYRE (Maravipost)–Malawi’s Flames enterprising midfielder Robert Ng’ambi on Saturday missed Platinum Star’s humiliating 3-1 defeat to Super Sport in Absa Premiership match due to a hamstring injury he suffered while playing for the Flames last Wednesday.
The Flames beat Ethiopia 3-2 in the 2015 Gorup B Afcon qualifier at Kamuzu stadium, and Ng’ambi was instrumental and engineered one of the goals before limping off.
While Flames two goal hero Atusaye Nyondo managed to win a penalty for his team Pretoria University which was converted by Geofrey Massa but it was not enough to save them from losing 2-1 to leaders Kaizer Chiefs.
Striker Robin Ngalande warmed the bench as his team Ajax Cape Town continued with their good run of form, beating former Flames coach Kinnah Phiri’s Free State Stars 2-1 in a match played at Athlone Stadium on Saturday night.
Ngalande joined Ajax in July on loan from Bidvest Wits but is yet to play a match as he was waiting for his work permit which came out last week.
Gabadinho Mhango and Limbikani Mzava are also expected to start for Bloemfontein Celtic Sunday as they play Mamelodi Sundowns.
