BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Cephas Lingani, the manager of FCB Nyasa Big Bullets star Chikumbutso Salima, has strongly dismissed reports circulating on social media linking the player with a move to DR Congo giants TP Mazembe.
Lingani described the reports as mere speculation, stressing that there is no truth in claims suggesting that Salima is on his way to the Congolese outfit this come June.
He clarified that, as things stand, there have been no formal or informal discussions between TP Mazembe and Salima regarding a possible transfer.
According to Lingani, Salima remains a fully committed FCB Nyasa Big Bullets player and is not engaged in any negotiations with foreign clubs at the moment.
He further emphasized that any serious interest from outside Malawi would follow proper communication channels, which, he said, has not happened so far.
Lingani also noted that Salima is still under contract with Big Bullets, making any transfer talk premature and misleading.
The player’s manager urged fans and football followers to ignore unverified information shared on social media platforms.
Chikumbutso Salima enjoyed an impressive 2025 TNM Super League campaign, which has naturally attracted attention from across the region.
The star finished the season as one of the league’s top goal scorers after netting 15 goals.
Salima shared the top scorer spot with fellow Flames and Bullets forward Babatunde Adepoju, highlighting his importance to Big Bullets’ attacking force.
