Political analysts have sharply criticized President Lazarus Chakwera for not yet releasing the report produced by the Malawi Defence Force (MDF) concerning the plane crash that occurred in Chikangawa Forest on June 10, 2024. The crash involved Vice President Saulos Chilima, and the call for transparency and accountability has intensified among Malawians.

Mabvuto Bamusi, a prominent political analyst, expressed frustration over Chakwera’s decision to withhold the report. According to Bamusi, the President is in a position to release the findings but has opted for silence instead. Bamusi argues that this reticence is disappointing and undermines public trust.

Similarly, Wonderful Mkhutche, another well-respected analyst, emphasized that the Malawian public’s anxiety will only subside once the details of the incident are disclosed. Mkuche criticized Chakwera for choosing to remain silent and concealing the report, asserting that such information should be made available to the public without undue delay.

The plane crash has been a source of significant concern and speculation among Malawians. Many are calling for a thorough and detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding the event. The lack of transparency and the delay in releasing the report have fueled doubts and unrest, underscoring the need for clear and open communication from the President’s office.
